Jim Cumbee established Tennessee Valley Group to help Nashville-area business owners fulfill their dreams for life after business ownership.

It’s a mission for which Jim is well prepared. In addition to being an attorney, corporate executive, transition mediator and M&A advisor, Jim has been a buyer, seller, and entrepreneur. His broad range of experience over 35 years gives him unique insight into how business buyers and sellers can achieve their goals.

Arguably, the most experienced business broker in Tennessee, Jim is familiar with the mistakes that occur when a business is being sold. “Experience in the field of buying and selling businesses led me to realize how under-served business owners are through this vulnerable and scary process,” he says.

The element of risk is intensified by the fact that Tennessee has no licensing or registration requirements for business brokers in Tennessee. Jim cautions buyers and sellers, “you have to be extra careful when deciding with whom to work.”

As a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator and member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators, Jim can help his Tennessee clients successfully resolve negotiation hurdles and contract term disputes.
