Andrew R. Melendrez

Andrew is a New Mexico native and was raised in Alamogordo. At a young age he was very involved in team sports like soccer, baseball, basketball and track. After graduating from Alamogordo High School with honors he attended Colorado School of Mines (CSM) in Golden and pursed a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics. While at CSM he participated in club rugby where he won co-MVP of the 2003 Jackalope Tournament in Wyoming where the Orediggers took 1st place. Andrew also pledged for the Beta Phi Chapter of Beta Theta Pi where he held various leadership roles as a member. During his time at CSM, Andrew grew his leadership skills through a minority non-profit organization called InRoads. This organization paired him with Coors Brewing Company as his sponsor where he worked in the IT, Training and Packaging Services R&D departments as an intern.

Shortly after he graduated from CSM, Andrew reconnected with his brother Dominic Melendrez where they worked together in the field of sleep medicine for Dr. Barry Krakow at Maimonides Sleep Arts & Sciences in Albuquerque. This was Andrew’s first exposure to the medical field where he discovered a potential opportunity to own his own business in the field.

In 2005, Dominic, Andrew and business partner Brandy Brown founded a sleep medicine consulting company called Quality Sleep Solutions (QSS) to assist clients with training, scoring, accreditation and RCM. Things grew quickly and QSS opened its first company owned sleep medicine clinic in 2009 in Rio Rancho, NM. From there the company expanded rapidly through M&A to 23 locations across CO, OK, NM & TX. QSS owned the largest sleep medicine network in NM with 9 locations. In 2019 after 14 years in business, this company was sold to a Physican acquirer out of El Paso, TX.

Andrew still held a burning desire and passion for M&A and connected with Bruce Burns at Affinity Ventures to continue on this path of performing transactions for clients. He also incorporated his skills of how to optimize and increase profits for businesses without changing operations. In May of 2021 he obtained his Certification as an M&A Professional from the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University. This was his first step on the journey to becoming a Certified Master Business Intermediary.

In his free time Andrew enjoys networking and volunteering at the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce where he spend 6 years as a director and Chairman in 2017. Andrew is also a fitness and outdoor enthusiast and enjoys CrossFit, large game bow hunting, mountain biking and snowboarding. On the weekends you will find him working in his garage welding, repairing and modifying Toyota 4Runners. Andrew is married with no children and has a Shih Tzu named Frankito.
